These terms apply when you use South Africa App: the website, the business portal and our emails. By using the guide, creating an account or listing a business, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Accounts
You only need an account to save places, add photos or manage a business. Keep your sign-in details to yourself: you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
Content you add
Photos, descriptions and anything else you upload must follow these rules:
Only upload what you own or have permission to use.
Nothing unlawful, misleading, defamatory, hateful or sexually explicit, and nothing that infringes anyone else's rights.
Don't share other people's personal information, and avoid photos in which people can be identified unless they have agreed - especially children.
No spam, advertising for other businesses, or harmful links.
Business owners must keep their listing accurate, including contact details, opening times and prices.
You keep ownership of what you upload. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to show it in the guide and to promote South Africa App for as long as it is on the service.
We review photos before they go live, and we may decline, edit or remove any content and suspend accounts that break these rules. To report content, use “Report this listing” on the listing, “Report photo” on a photo, or email us.
Listings are not endorsements
Listings come from businesses, from our team and from public sources. Listing a business is not an endorsement, recommendation or grading of it, and we do not guarantee that any listing is accurate, current or complete.
Any booking or purchase is between you and the business. We are not a party to it and we do not take payment for it.
Watch out for scams. Be wary of anyone who asks for a deposit by bank transfer or over WhatsApp before you have confirmed they are genuine. Call the business on a number you have checked independently, prefer secure payment methods, and if something seems wrong, report the listing to us.
Travel safety
Conditions change - travel at your own risk. Roads, trails, weather, access, opening hours and safety conditions can change without notice, and routes, distances and directions in the guide are for planning only.
Check local conditions before you set out, follow official guidance and signs, and use your own judgement about what is safe for you. In an emergency call 112 from any mobile, or 10111 for the police.
Paid plans for business owners
Plans are prepaid, monthly or annually. Prices are shown in rand on the plans page before you confirm. [VAT: to be confirmed - whether prices include VAT, and our VAT number.]
Your plan renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you change it.
Extras you add part-way through a period are live straight away and are first charged at your next renewal.
You can remove an extra or move to the Free plan at any time from the business portal. The change takes effect straight away and you won't be charged for it from your next renewal.
There is no proration and there are no refunds: payments already made are not refunded or reduced, whether you remove an extra, move to Free or close your account.
If a renewal payment fails, we will try again and email you. If it keeps failing, the listing moves to the Free plan and stays on the map.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act where they apply to you.
Liability
We provide the guide as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of the guide, from listings or content provided by others, or from your dealings with any business.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
We may change or suspend parts of the service and update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version. These terms are governed by the law of South Africa.
